Crypto security for NFT transactions
NFT marketplace OpenSea has been hit by a phishing attack. This capitalized on an OpenSea promotion that required users to clean up their wallets. The phishers sent an email that appeared to come from OpenSea. Users had to make a transaction, inadvertently giving the phishers permission to transfer ownership of NFTs. They captured $2 million worth of NFTs in the process.
OpenSea obviously sympathizes with the users, but it emphasizes that the victims all used the phishing link. There is no problem with their systems and/or security protocols.
