Series based on video games are becoming more and more popular, there are already plenty of recent examples of this fact. A good example is Fallout on Prime Video, this series exceeded all expectations. But also The Last of Us that came out last year on HBO Max is a real gem.
After Prime Video’s success with Fallout, the streaming service is once again trying to strike with a video game series. This time a series is being made of the well-known video game series Tomb Raider. Casting is always mega important for series, especially when casting on existing characters.

These actresses are perfect for the role of Lara Croft, the main character in Tomb Raider on Prime Video.
Hailee Steinfeld
The first actress who could portray a beautiful Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider series on Prime Video is Hailee Steinfeld. First of all, Steinfeld has already shown her acting talent in several films, in comedies but also in serious films. But Steinfeld also looks a bit like Lara Croft; long, dark hair and an angular face.
Steinfeld’s role as Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye series shows is an example that she could play the role in Tomb Raider on Prime Video very well. She has already shown that she can perfectly play a badass character with a bow and arrow, so for Lara Croft she can do the exact same thing.

Melissa Barrera
Another good choice for Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider series on Prime Video is Melissa Barrera. Although she is slightly less well-known than Hailee Steinfeld, she certainly knows how to act. Especially her roles in two Scream films, Vida and Abigail are powerfully well done. Barrera is also a bit like Lara Croft, only she is a bit older. Croft is generally around 21 and Barrera is already 33.
Whereas Steinfeld already has experience in the action part which is important for the Tomb Raider series on Prime Video, Barrera has worked a lot in the horror genre. The advantage of acting in horror films is that you get to deal a lot with intense scenes and high-energy acting. Barrera could apply this nicely to the character of Lara Croft.

Mia Goth
Even though Lara Croft is the hero of the Tomb Raider franchise, her life is not all roses, it is quite a dark franchise at times. For this very feeling, Mia Goth could perfectly step into the role of Lara Croft in the Prime Video series.
Goth, like Melissa Barrera, has a lot of experience in the horror genre of filmmaking. But her acting talent is not the only reason why she could portray a dark Lara Croft. Goth’s appearance also helps a lot with this. She has a very expressive face with which she could beautifully convey the heroine’s pain and difficult life in the Tomb Raider series on Prime Video.

Jessica Henwick
Jessica Henwick is one of the smaller actresses on the list, but that does not take away from her talent as an actress. Henwick has starred in action films and series many times before, Tomb Raider on Prime Video would therefore be right up her alley. Henwick also bears some resemblance to Lara Croft.

Maria Zhang is fairly new to the film industry, but has already shown nicely what she has in store. Until now, Zhang is really only known from the Avatar: The Last Airbender series on Netflix. Here, she played the role of Suki. The actress does not look exactly like Lara Croft, but she certainly has similarities.
Maria Zhang has also already shown well that she is up for action. In Avatar: The Last Airbender on Netflix, she is a talented warrior with good martial art skills. She could use this experience for the Tomb Raider series on Prime Video. Also, this series would help build a fine career for the actress.

No one has been cast for the role of Lara Croft so far, and there are also many other actresses who could play the role nicely. But these five actresses are certainly good choices for the Prime Video series as well. Tomb Raider will hopefully be as good as its Prime Video predecessor Fallout.
