Sony has announced that all the accessories it sells for the PlayStation will now come in black. Starting in February, the new accessories will be on sale.
When the PlayStation 5 came out, everything was white. The console itself, the controllers. Some people liked that color; others were less satisfied. They longed for the black color of Sony’s previous consoles. Indeed, never before did the company release a game console as white as the current one.
Already since 2021, you can buy a black DualSense controller for your PlayStation. You can also buy black side panels that allow you to give your game console that color. Now the DualSense Edge controller, the PlayStation Portal, the Pulse Elite headphones and the Pulse Explore earbuds will be added, Sony has announced.
PlayStation fans will have to wait a while longer
People who love black will be very happy about this. However, they will have to wait quite a while. Sony is actually selling the new accessories starting Feb. 20. So you will have to settle for your white PlayStation accessories for over a month. The boxes and cases that the accessories come in also have a black design. You can pre-order them starting Feb. 16.
There are also plenty of companies selling accessories to change the look of your PlayStation. For example, Dbrand has the Darkplates 2.0, which allows you to turn your PlayStation black. The company also sells side panels in other colors, as do other companies. That way, you can completely customize your PlayStation to your liking.
You have to have some money for it
You have to be willing to spend some money to transform your PlayStation and accessories. For example, a black DualSense Edge controller costs over 200 euros. Black Pulse Elite headphones cost about 150 euros. For some gamers, that won’t be worth the money.
