There is bad news for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers. On May 21, 34 games will leave the service, including a few gems.
PlayStation Plus offers many perks for its subscribers, and it varies with each subscription how good these perks are. For example, PS Plus Extra offers a huge catalog of games that gamers can download for free.
Games come and go in this catalog, but far more new games are added than games disappear. May 21, however, will be a bad day for PlayStation Plus Extra members. On that day, 34 games will disappear, including some of the best you can play.

With nearly four hundred titles in the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog, it’s certainly not strange that games get removed from time to time. But having 34 games disappear at once doesn’t happen often. That includes a whole host of Final Fantasy games and one very notable title.
PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers will have to say goodbye to Horizon Zero Dawn. Besides being a fantastic game, there’s something else remarkable about it. Horizon Zero Down is a game by Sony itself. Often games disappear mainly because of licenses with other companies that expire. but that is not the case for this game. So something else seems to be going on.
These top games are disappearing
It’s bad enough that 34 games are being removed from the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog all at once, but there are some genuinely good games among them. To these games, PS Plus Extra subscribers must say hello on May 21.
A bunch of Final Fantasy games
As many as seven different Final Fantasy games are disappearing from the PlayStation Plus Extra catalog. While Final Fantasy is a super good and beloved game franchise. The first Final Fantasy game came out in the 1987 and the most recent one just this year. So it is also a long-running video game franchise.
The Final Fantasy franchise focuses mainly on fantasy role-playing video games, as well as action, tactical and online role-playing games. The story of most Final Fantasy games takes the somewhat similar direction; a group of heroes must defeat a great evil.
But each game tackles this uniquely with a totally different atmosphere, in-depth characters, an interesting story and beautiful gameplay. The following will disappear:

Horizon Zero Dawn
The popular 2017 game Horizon Zero Dawn is also leaving PlayStation Plus Extra on May 21. The game was self-released by Sony on the PlayStation 4. Zero Dawn is the first game in the Horizon series, most recently Horizon Call of the Mountain came out in 2023.
The story of Zero Dawn follows a young hunter named Aloy who must survive in a world taken over by machines. While she is surviving, she is also trying to unravel the mystery of her past. She uses a spear, bow, stealth and other ways to take out enemies.
Zero Dawn is an open-world game where secret locations can be discovered and there are enough side-quests to keep you busy for quite a while. Horizon Zero Dawn is definitely recommended for a quick free play with PlayStation Plus Extra.
