When it comes to racing games, the Gran Turismo series has been considered the most realistic game for many years. A few years ago, Microsoft came up with an alternative in the form of the Forza Motorsport series. This game will get a new installment on the Xbox Series X in early 2023.
Where we had to wait quite a few years for a new part in the Gran Turismo series, there it has also been some years since we got a part in the Forza Motorsport series. It was mainly the more spectacular Forza Horizon games that we had to make do with. Now that is about to change.
Forza Motorsport coming to the Xbox Series X
This new installment in Forza Motorsport doesn’t have a distinct name. The developer probably thinks it’s a game that has taken such a big step forward that it’s not a matter of a successor, but reestablishing the series. In the presentation of the game during the Xbox Showcase, several superlatives were mentioned by the developers for the game. For example, real-time ray tracing is used on the track, which just makes the game look really nice. And if you have the time, it is possible to see your own car in the reflection of the other.
But in addition to that, there are certain elements that throw the realism further up. For example, tires wear in a more realistic way, the way you drive affects the burning of your fuel and there is work done on the way damage to your car is shown. Whether the game will be on the same level as Gran Turismo, remains to be seen, but it is good that with the release of this game you have an alternative.
