According to Warner Bros. the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy will be paired with the new Harry Potter series on HBO Max.
If it’s up to Warner Bros. the sequel to Hogwarts Legacy will be more Harry Potter than ever before. And that’s good news, thanks in part to the HBO Max remake of Harry Potter that’s in the works.
Warner Bros. has in fact announced new information about Hogwarts Legacy 2. As it stands, this will be the most magical Harry Potter experience we have ever experienced in a game.
The game will be paired with the series
A while back, HBO Max already caused quite a few happy Harry Potter fans. The streaming service announced it was working on a remake of the original films. So the story about “The Boy Who Lived” we get to see once again, but this time in the form of a series.

Meanwhile, it was already obvious that the immensely popular Hogwarts Legacy would get a sequel. It is one of the best-selling games for the PlayStation 5 in recent years. Never before have fans been able to experience the Wizarding World in such detail.
Warner Bros. is now sharing how the two projects will be related. Indeed, Hogwarts Legacy 2 will be set in the time of Harry Potter himself. Thus, the series and the game will be inextricably linked.
Hogwarts Legacy 2 takes a different direction
The magical thing about Hogwarts Legacy was that we could experience the wizarding world in a way we had not seen before. In fact, the game was set a good hundred years before the events of J.K. Rowling’s award-winning book series.
So the world in the game had something familiar, but at the same time it was unfamiliar enough to be adventurous. Hogwarts Legacy 2 thus seeks the source material a little closer than its predecessor. So that we will encounter the beloved characters from the movies and books is obvious.

Whether we will actually play as one of the characters in the series is not yet clear. In all Harry Potter games except Hogwarts Legacy, you actually played as Harry. Will this pattern continue again now? Unfortunately, we have to wait for more clarity on the game.
Hogwarts Legacy was ‘push’ in right direction
Warner Bros. has also shared a few things about the upcoming series. For example, they previously shared which director will be working on the show. This was not just anyone: this director was the force behind hit series such as Succession and Game Of Thrones.
Turning a beloved film series into a series; it is a bold move by Warner Bros. A plan that dare to justify thanks to the success of Hogwarts Legacy. For example, a top executive at Warner. Bros said in an interview that the game’s success gave them enough confidence in making the series.
The plan was for the Harry Potter series to come out in 2026. Hogwarts Legacy 2 probably won’t be announced until the following year. Big games like this average about four to six years in production. Plenty of time to replay the first part.
