Free online gaming with your PlayStation 5
Sony today announced that gamers can play online games completely free of charge this weekend. Consumers with a PlayStation 5 at home can, for example, play a game of FIFA against their friends or let loose in the multiplayer of Call of Duty: Vanguard (does anyone still play this?). Without a PlayStation Plus subscription, that is.
On Saturday 27 August and Sunday 28 August, the sacred gates of the online landscape open. So you can stay up late on Friday and go wild into the night, or wake up early on Saturday morning. Please note that the games are not included in the action. So if you want to play a game of FIFA, make sure you have it at home.
The above is also valid for gamers who still have a PlayStation 4 at home. Something for everyone!

What’s the deal with Plus subscriptions these days?
Before, online gaming with your PlayStation 5 or PS4 was pretty straightforward. You bought a PS Plus subscription, paid a fixed amount per month and that was it. Anno 2022, things are a little different and there are different variants when it comes to the online subscription.
