Leaked Grand Theft Auto 6 images less good news than you think

GTA 6, or Grand Theft Auto 6, may be the game most people are looking forward to. So leaked images may seem like good news, but the opposite is true. It creates an awful lot of drawbacks.

GTA is one of the most popular game series in the world. You can hardly find a gamer who has not played the fifth installment in the series. So the big wait is on GTA 6. Thanks to a hacker, we got to see the first images. It seems to be good news that we finally see some, but it has major drawbacks.

Waiting for GTA 6

Of course, we are all very curious when Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released and want to know everything about it. Yet that is not always a good idea. In fact, there are plenty of good reasons not to. Not only can a game change significantly over time, it can also put a lot of pressure on creators. Take Cyberpunk 2077, for example, which came out way too early due to the enormous hype and turned into a complete fiasco.

Yet there is a big difference with, say, a Cyberpunk 2077. The GTA 6 information came out through a hacker. This one has brought out a good number of game images. By the way, these images are probably still from an early stage. That may seem nice to see, but there is a danger behind it.

The danger of GTA 6’s source code

The hacker claims to have in his hands not only images of GTA 6, but also the source code and other parts. That source code is important because it is actually the building blocks of the game. With it, the developers make their game unique. Bringing that code out into the streets therefore has major consequences.

Easily copying GTA 6 through the code is, of course, one of the options. Yet that is not the main danger. That lies precisely in the information that is released. This can be used by malicious people, so the source code has to be changed again. Think of cheaters, or even worse, hackers manipulating the game to collect data from you. That means hefty delays to Grand Theft Auto 6.

Rockstar not the only victim

The GTA 6 hack is obviously a big shock in the gaming world, but it is certainly not an isolated case. More publishers have fallen victim to theft recently. For example, images of Diablo IV recently came out and we also saw information come out about the Assassin’s Creed games this month.

So game companies have to take even better measures to protect their property and be even more careful. So that costs even more time and money. Something, therefore, that can also affect the user.

Although GTA 6 does not yet have a release date, the hack seems to be causing significant delays. Considering the other publishers are also suffering from it, it has become a new reality in the gaming landscape. Something we should all take into account. Publisher Take 2, meanwhile, is doing everything possible to take the footage of Grand Theft Auto 6 offline.

Patience is a virtue for Grand Theft Auto 6

So leaking early images of GTA 6 that are not yet convincing does not automatically mean that the entire game will be bad. Again, that negative attitude can cause delays, or postponements. Especially AAA games (the biggest ones) are multi-million dollar projects.

It can cause a company to trash the whole game, so we never get to see the game. You don’t change a negative atmosphere around a game overnight, so then the creator wants to mitigate the risk.

So new images of Grand Theft Auto 6 and other games seem nice, but mostly create false expectations and long delays. So as gamers, let’s just wait until when a creator himself thinks it’s best to release images. Just a little more curious then, but we’ll get our games on time.
