Pokémon is one of the biggest franchises on the planet. As such, the first game came out quite a few years ago, in 1996. Since then, many new games have come out and new fans have joined. The franchise still continues to grow.
But every major franchise has its knock-offs there, and Pokémon is certainly no exception. But not all knock-offs are bad. For example, a fantastic knock-off of Pokémon is coming to the Nintendo Switch soon, and it’s one you’ll want to play.

Play the latest remake of the Monster Hunter franchise on the Nintendo Switch. With brand new graphics, but the old familiar story. The game isn’t quite perfected for the Nintendo Switch yet, but it’s certainly well on its way.
For example, there are new cutscenes and there are also new voice-overs in English and in Japanese. All these things combine for a nice story with also fine gameplay, without losing the Monster Hunter feeling while gaming. Yet the Monster Hunter franchise did not begin as a Pokémon knock-off. When the first game came out in 2004, you had to fight monsters to slaughter them. After you defeated the monster, you could use things like its scales to make better weapons.
When Monster Hunter Stories came out from the 3DS, it only went the Pokémon side. Here, you became a rider of monsters, and you had to use your own monsters to defeat other monsters. Still, the Nintendo Switch game does have its own whole vibe, in that it didn’t start out as a Pokémon knock-off.
