For a long time there have been rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2. When all sorts of news leaked out, the Japanese company decided to lay eggs for its money and put a teaser online. But really that video didn’t show much either.
Nintendo has yet to release the real information. However, the company has now announced when you can expect everything.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will be unveiled on this date
Nintendo has just announced a new Nintendo Direct. A very special one, because in it the company will tell more about the Nintendo Switch 2.
This Direct will take place on April 2 at 3 p.m. Dutch time. “We are sharing more detailed information about the Nintendo Switch 2,” reports the Japanese company in a post on X.

Still, many question marks remain. The big question is exactly how long this Direct will last and what all will be told about the Nintendo Switch 2. In addition, it is unknown if any games will be shown that will appear on the new console.
We know this thanks to the first teaser
Nevertheless, we could already tell a few things from the first teaser of the Nintendo Switch 2. For example, the new console will have a larger screen than its predecessor, although it is still unknown what technology will be used for this.
In addition, the Joy-Cons will work in a slightly different way. Now you still slide them into the Nintendo Switch, but with the new game console you just click them on. Presumably there will also be a magnet in them.
We also saw images of a new Mario Kart. It is expected that this will be one of the launch games for the 2. You can race with more people at the same time, creating a new dynamic.
Nintendo has already scheduled a number of introductory sessions for the Nintendo Switch 2, with the last one taking place in June. Therefore, it is likely that the game console will not be released until then. However, we seem to know that answer for sure on April 2.
