Whoever says Rockstar naturally thinks of GTA and Red Dead Redemption. The latter is finally coming to the PC after years.
While many game studios release their games simultaneously on both PC and consoles, some creators choose to bring their games to PlayStation and Xbox first. Rockstar Games is a good example of this, with titles such as GTA and Red Dead Redemption.
Fans of the western game have never been able to play the game on PC. But for them, good news is finally in sight.
Rockstar brings Red Dead Redemption to PC
Rockstar released the game back in 2010 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox. But in the 14 years that followed, it never came to the PC. This is notable because its successor, Red Dead Redemption 2, did come to the PC.
Now Rockstar finally seems to be changing that. Indeed, the PlayStation Store has a reference to a PC version of Red Dead Redemption. Specifically, it is the 2023 Game of the Year version, which previously appeared on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X.
This new version of Red Dead Redemption offers improved resolutions and frame rates over the original 2010 release. In addition, it supports multiple screens and spatial audio, taking the gaming experience to the next level. Exactly when this version will come to the PC is still unknown, as Rockstar has not officially announced anything about it.
Waiting for GTA 6
For Rockstar fans with a PC, this release comes at an ideal time, as it gives them a chance to play a classic game while waiting for the release of GTA 6.
The release date for GTA 6 is scheduled for fall 2025, and that includes the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X versions. Rockstar has not yet announced anything about a PC version. If Rockstar takes the same approach as it did with Red Dead Redemption 2, PC gamers may have to wait at least an extra year.
