Rockstar Games finally does what we want: full focus on GTA 6!

Rockstar Games, the developer of Red Dead Redemption and GTA V, among others, has made a decision. According to the usually well-informed Kotaku, the company is focusing entirely on the development of GTA 6. Finally!

There was earlier talk that Rockstar would focus on remakes of older titles in addition to GTA 6. For example, Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV were said to be on the schedule.

Rockstar Games focuses completely on GTA 6

Following the launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, Rockstar Games’ direction has changed. The collection consists of GTA 3, GTA: San Andreas and GTA: Vice City. For the developer it is a pity that the games did not achieve the expected success. For gamers this now turns out to be really good news. Plans for remasters of Red Dead Redemption and Grand Theft Auto IV seem to have changed because of this.

In February this year Rockstar announced that the development of GTA 6 officially started. However, it now appears that the full focus was not on the new version of the game. On Twitter, Tez2, a reliable source when it comes to the titles of Rockstar, says that this has changed. According to the source there is a line through the remasters and everyone within the company focuses on GTA 6.

As per a reliable source with clear accuracy on Rockstar plans, remasters of GTA IV & RDR1 were on the table a few years ago, but Rockstar chose not to proceed with the projects in mind.

The poor reception of the Trilogy DE might be a reason behind that decision.#GTAIV #RDR1

Ten years of success

It’s news that makes us incredibly happy at the editorial office. We are just months away from the ten-year anniversary of Grand Theft Auto V. The game was released in 2013 and is still incredibly popular today. Somehow it makes sense for Rockstar Games to continue supporting the game and wait to release a sequel. On the other hand, gamers could really use something new in this area.

By the way, last year Rockstar Games did surprise with a “new” game in the popular franchise. The developer launched the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy, which was all but well received. The attempt to revamp the classic games on consoles like the Nintendo Switch seemed to have failed pretty quickly.
