This afternoon at 5 p.m. Dutch time, Sony will have what is called a technical presentation. Our guess: the PlayStation 5 Pro will be announced. But where do you watch that?
Rumors have been flying around our ears for months, but today it finally seems to be here. At 5 p.m. Dutch time, Sony will hold a technical presentation with Lead Architect Mark Cerny as the speaker. That must be the PlayStation 5 Pro, right?
While a Pro version of the PlayStation 5 is high on many gamers’ wish lists, the update itself won’t bring many surprises. Perhaps that’s why the presentation is only nine minutes long.
Will Sony announce the PlayStation 5 Pro today?
In the technical presentation on “PlayStation 5 and innovations in gaming technology,” the PlayStation 5 Pro is likely to see the light of day. As with the previous generation Sony console, this model will be an expanded version of the current console.
People have been talking in the corridors for months about the arrival of the device. For example, we know that the Pro will have around 45 percent more computing power than the current console performing up to three times better in terms of raytracing. Thereby, a new technology will have to upscale games better, significantly increasing the frame rates of games.
The Pro version of the PlayStation 4 managed to provide enough of a difference to give the console a few more years before a switch to the PS5 was really necessary. This will likely be the case with this model as well.
Here’s how to watch the presentation
As mentioned, Sony’s presentation is only nine minutes long, so you can get up to speed pretty quickly on everything the new console has to offer.
