The silly PS5 announcement that puts Sony behind Microsoft scaled

Take your PlayStation 5 to the next level in simple (and inexpensive) ways

The controller of the PlayStation 5, is a fantastic addition to gameplay. It’s just not ideal when typing text or performing searches. Not to worry: there is an easy and inexpensive solution to this.

A simple keyboard and mouse offer you a good solution. You can type a lot easier and faster thanks to this addition. Think carefully before buying one, though. After all, there are a number of things you need to pay attention to.

Buying a keyboard for your PlayStation 5

Just because a PlayStation 5 is connected to a keyboard and mouse doesn’t mean you can game with it. In fact, by no means all developers have keyboard and mouse support built into their games. The games that do work with a keyboard and mouse tend to be slower-paced games. Think Minecraft or The Sims. In these games, you often have time to reach for a mouse and type. Whether your favorite game also works with a keyboard or mouse is best looked up on Google.

It’s also good to keep in mind that the PlayStation 5 doesn’t work with all the keyboards and mice out there. Most models should work fine, but there is no guarantee. If you want to use a piece of hardware you already own, just plug it in and try it out yourself. If you want to buy a new keyboard for it, check the product specifications to see if it supports PS5 connectivity.

This is how to easily connect a keyboard and mouse

The easiest way to connect a keyboard and mouse to your PlayStation 5 is to simply connect them to the USB slots. You have one USB Type-A port and one USB Type-C port on the front, and two USB Type-A ports on the back. You can use all the outputs to connect a keyboard and mouse. If all goes well, the devices will work immediately after connection and you won’t need to perform any further synchronization.

Installing a wireless keyboard is a little more complicated. In this, you first put the keyboard and mouse in pairing mode. That way, the devices are ready to connect. Then open the settings on your PlayStation 5 via the cog icon. Choose Accessories >> General >>> Bluetooth Accessories. The console will now search for Bluetooth devices nearby. Select your new keyboard and mouse and confirm to connect. If all goes well.
