The big reveals Sony might make at the PlayStation Showcase

There will most likely be another PlayStation Showcase soon. And these things might come up then.

It may not be officially announced yet, but if recent rumors are to be believed, a brand new PlayStation event is coming soon. This could be a new Showcase, as well as a State of Play presentation.

Suppose this does happen, and there will be a brand new PlayStation Showcase, there are some things they might announce. And these things would have a great chance of coming forward in a possible PlayStation Showcase.

PlayStation Showcase

We always want more announcements of new content, of course, but these things have the greatest chance of actually being announced.

Silent Hill 2

We have been waiting for the remake of Silent Hill 2 for quite some time now. And even though PlayStation itself said the game would be released this year, developer Konami has yet to make it official.

Recent leaks now indicate that this could soon change. In the possible PlayStation Showcase, a new horror game would be announced, including a release date. So there is a good chance that this horror game could be the Silent Hill 2 remake.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Konami must be getting busy, because there is also a lot of hype for another remake of a Konami game. This time it will be a remake of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater from 2004. But again, there is little certainty about this yet.

As with the remake of Silent Hill 2, PlayStation has said that the remake would come out this year, and again Konami hasn’t said anything about it yet. Still, there’s a good chance we could at least get a trailer at the possible PlayStation Showcase.

At last year’s PlayStation Showcase, the game FAIRGAME$ was announced, but so far little hype has been built up for the game. This is partly because we have yet to see any gameplay from the game at all.

We also don’t yet have a release date or any idea at all of when the game might come out. This year’s possible PlayStation Showcase could change this and better prepare us for FAIRGAME$.

Concord is another PlayStation game we know next to nothing about. Like FAIRGAME$, we got to see the first trailer for Concord at last year’s Showcase, but that’s about it.

We have no idea what the PvP scifi shooter will look like or exactly how it will work, we only have a single trailer. This year’s possible PlayStation Showcase could change this nicely and give us new information.

Bungie is currently mega busy with the release of Destiny 2: The Final Shape, but maybe there’s a chance we’ll hear more about the remake of Marathon. Maybe we’ll get a gameplay trailer.

The chance for Marathon at the possible PlayStation Showcase is smaller than the other things on this list, but you never know. Maybe Bungie will choose to drop a quick little trailer to start some hype.

Astro Bot

After the success of the first two Astro Bot games; Astro Bot Rescue Mission and Astro’s Playroom, there is a lot of demand for a sequel to these two games. Therefore, it might be a good idea to release this sequel.

And as if the prayers were heard, new rumors indicate that an announcement of a sequel is imminent. The possible PlayStation Showcase would be the perfect time for this. That way the hype will grow a little more.

Bluepoint Games

Bluepoint Games has proven itself time and again for PlayStation fans. After making fine remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls, many PlayStation fans yearn for more from this game studio.

Bluepoint Games itself has said that they are working on new content, but that it will not be a remake. Instead, they are going to release a completely new game. Since the studio’s previous game is already four years old, there is a chance that they will announce their new game soon. Perhaps at the possible PlayStation Showcase.

Sony Bend

This same reasoning applies to Sony Bend. By now it has been more than five years since they released their last game. The last game they released was Days Gone, this was a great game.

Sony Bend did work on another game during these five years, which has now been cancelled. So they haven’t had the complete five years for a new game. Still, there certainly remains a chance that the game studio could announce a new game at the possible PlayStation Showcase.

Ghost of Tsushima 2

Sony owns many popular franchises such as God of War and Spider-Man games. Often the gaps between games from these series are not extremely long and could the same be true for the Ghost of Tsushima games?

If they follow the same pattern with Ghost of Tsushima as they do with the Spider-Man games, it means we won’t have to wait long for Ghost of Tsushima 2. Meanwhile, it’s been four years since the first installment. So there is an excellent chance that we will see the sequel announced during the possible PlayStation Showcase.

God of War: Ragnarok for PC

Sony is increasingly extending its games to the PC world. For example, in 2024 alone they have made PC versions of Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Forbidden West and, of course, the recent hit Helldivers 2.

If the rumors are true, God of War: Ragnarok should also be coming to PC soon. The game is also a year and a half old by now, so it would be about time for a PC release. The possible PlayStation Showcase would be the perfect time to announce this release.

Lego Horizon Adventures

There have been a fair amount of rumors about the making of a new Horizon game for some time now. But these rumors are getting more and more interesting, as there is now talk of a collab game. Horizon may be teaming up with Lego.

The game would be called Lego Horizon Adventures, and the idea is not so strange. Lego sets have already been made from Horizon games as well, so why not turn it around and bring Lego into the games. Lego Horizon Adventures could get a lot of attention during a possible PlayStation Showcase.

Marvel’s Venom

The Spider-Man games were a huge success, as was the Miles Morales spin-off. Meanwhile, we also know for sure that a Venom game is supposed to come out sometime soon. This one would be similar to the Miles Morales spin-off.

Rumors have been flying around about this game for a long time, and it’s supposed to come out in 2025. If this is the case, there really should be an official announcement soon. The possible PlayStation Showcase would be the best time for this.

Resident Evil 9

With the Resident Evil game series, we never really have to wait long for a new game. But it has now been three years since the last game. That means Resident Evil 9 is getting closer and closer.

Although a 2024 release date is virtually impossible by now, 2025 is certainly not a crazy idea. If the game studio does choose to release a new Resident Evil soon, the possible PlayStation Showcase is a great time for it.

PS5 Pro

If there are many rumors and leaks flying around about anything, it is a new version of the PlayStation 5. This new PlayStation would obviously be a better version of the regular version and would probably be a Pro version.

A PS5 with improved hardware is obviously every gamer’s dream, and it wouldn’t be a strange release. It has now been four years since the PS5 came out, so it might be time for an improved version. And there is no better time for this than during the PlayStation Showcase.

Whether the PlayStation Showcase is actually coming soon remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a possibility. And then if anything is going to be announced by Sony, surely these things are the most likely.
