Star Wars Outlaws is the latest game in a long line of Star Wars games. These games you also want to give a chance.
That Star Wars has left a mega impression on film and pop culture is indisputable. But Star Wars is also a household name in the gaming world. All new Star Wars games are eagerly awaited. This includes the very latest in the series: Star Wars Outlaws.
That game just seems a bit disappointing, if initial reviews are to be believed. So what do you do when you still need a good dose of stormtroopers, lightsabers and The Force? Well: give one of these Star Wars titles a chance!
Star Wars Outlaws scores particularly average on PlayStation 5 and Xbox
When Star Wars Outlaws was announced, many fans were ecstatic. There was finally a promise to create an open-world in the universe of the acclaimed film series. Even before the announcement was well and truly out into the world, fans were already fantasizing about roaming around Tatooine and tree climbing on Kashyyyk.
As the trailers for Outlaws followed, enthusiasm became somewhat milder. Especially since Ubisoft developed the game, a game maker that has come under fire quite often for its poor quality games. Wondering what we at WANT think of the game? You can read it here.
Should the game disappoint for any reason, or is open-world not your thing? Then fortunately there are other great Star Wars games that are still perfectly playable in 2024.
These Star Wars games are also worth playing
Since the appearance of Episode IV: A New Hope, more than a hundred Star Wars games have been released. The first ones still on the Atari, the more recent ones of course with beautiful graphics on the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox. These Star Wars games over the years are worth a try
Star Wars: Republic Commando
This game is one of the best games ever released on the original Xbox. In Republic Commando, as the name suggests, you play as a Clone Trooper Commando. Together with your squad, you perform tactical missions to defeat Sith scum once and for all.
Today, we are used to a certain quality of FPS games. And although Republic Commando is from a (fairly recent, but still) dusty past, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t offer quality. Should you still have an old Xbox lying around somewhere, give this game a try especially.
Star Wars Battlefront 2
No. We don’t mean 2015’s Battlefront 2. That game was messy. We mean the Battlefront 2 from 2005. In this game, too, you fought in iconic battles throughout the universe. Not only as a stormtrooper, rebel or droid, but also as a Jedi, Sith and other powerful forces.

The game has been offline for quite a few years, but that doesn’t mean it’s no longer playable. A remaster was recently released on consoles. For those who want even more of the authentic experience: there are plenty of mods for the PC version to play online again.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
The Lego games have always worked well with Star Wars. Except for a few other series, such as Marvel’s superheroes, fairly few other film series have had successful Lego games. And the ultimate experience among Lego games is really The Skywalker Saga.
This humorous and extremely entertaining Lego game takes you through the storylines of all the Episodes. You unlock familiar and less familiar characters. The game is vastly expanded with its many secrets and characters. So a valuable addition to your collection on PlayStation and Xbox.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
There is some debate as to which game is better in the Jedi series. Jedi: Fallen Order was the first game and introduced us to the charismatic protagonist Cal Kestis. In that game, you explore many worlds, fight in challenging lightsaber duels and solve puzzles using The Force.
The second installment in the series expands on all levels. The story reaches new heights, there are more worlds to explore and even more ways to make stormtroopers’ lives miserable. Jedi: Survivor is a top-notch game for anyone who wants to feel even a little Jedi.
