These games on the PlayStation 5 are too difficult

PlayStation 5 has a lot of games that are soothing after a long day at work. These difficult games are definitely not.

For those not averse to a challenge, there are plenty of games on the PlayStation 5 that demand your utmost concentration. Just think of hits like Elden Ring or Black Myth: Wukong.

Sometimes, however, a game can be very challenging. And relaxed gameplay can then suddenly cause you to shoot into fight or flight mode. Exactly those games could be called too difficult.

The hardest games on PlayStation 5

Many games let you set the difficulty, but with these games, difficult means really difficult. From fast-paced indie games to complex rpgs, these are the hardest games for the PlayStation 5.

Trials Rising

Doing cool tricks on a motorcycle and also reaching the finish line. That’s how you could describe Trails Rising. Only there are hardly any words to describe the bizarre levels that demand that most precise move from you.

The game starts out fairly easy. A few bumps in the road and a big jump with the bike, and voila. The later levels, on the other hand, are sometimes too brutal for words. One wrong move is enough to knock you off your bike. Oh and the distracting, explosive background of the levels certainly doesn’t help either.

Returnal

Challenging games on the PlayStation 5 are often found in the fantasy and rpg corner. Returnal is an exception. This frustrating sci-fi game is one of the least completed games on the console. It is both a roguelike and a horror game.

You play as a Selene, a crashed pilot investigating the an alien planet. It soon becomes apparent that you are not welcome and almost everything on the planet is trying to kill you. Run, shoot, hide and above all don’t get hit; that’s Returnal.

Sifu

Anyone who has ever played a game of Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat against friends knows that sometimes random button ramming can get you a long way. You better not try that with Sifu. This PlayStation 5 game requires a lot of combat acumen.

Using the requisite karate kicks, you must make your way through various levels. A lot easier said than done, as the game requires tight timing and good interpretation of your opponent. Even wandering objects in the levels can be used against you.

Dead Cells

A rock-solid 2d game that is addictive. You battle enemies and collect gold and equipment. Each time you die, you return to the beginning of the game and keep some of your earnings. With that you can buy new upgrades and skills.

Slowly but surely you can explore the world further and further, but with that the enemies also become stronger and stronger. You are easily overwhelmed by opponents and will return to the beginning of the game more than once. But it is well worth the frustration. Dead Cells is one of the better indie games on the PlayStation 5.

Dragon’s Dogma 2

This beautiful rpg was forgotten fairly soon after its release. The game is not for everyone, but for gamers looking for a challenge it is perfect. It looks a lot like a typical fantasy game, but clumsily fighting oversized monsters won’t come easily to you.

Whether you use magic, bow and arrow or a sword to take on the enemy, in Dragon’s Dogma 2 you have to plan and use tactics pretty well. Only through a well-prepared attack can you prevent your character from being beaten to a pulp by a monster.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon

FromSoftware has some very successful games on the PlayStation 5. Yet the company behind Dark Souls and Elden Ring hasn’t just made fantasy games. After all, in Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, you crawl into a giant combat robot.

With this, you go to war to protect Earth from bizarrely large aliens. As with Dark Souls, be prepared to restart very often because the game is anything but easy. Only by understanding the patterns in which the large aliens attack will you have a chance to win.
