With the release of the PS5 Pro, more and more games will claim to be Pro-enhanced. Whether you take advantage of that or not, these are the fattest games to look forward to in 2025.

Sniper Elite: Resistance | Jan. 30

The sequel to Sniper Elite 5. This is definitely something PS5 owners can look forward to. If you’re not an avid player of the best shooters, Sniper Elite is one of the best-known and most beloved series in the tactical shooter world, allowing players to use stealth and intelligence to take out Nazis at a distance

Typical of the Sniper Elite games are the amazing slow-motion shots you sometimes get in which you get a cinematic representation of the enemies you hit. Sometimes comical, but always incredibly cool.

Civilization 7 | Feb. 11

After eight years, the latest installment in the renowned Civilization series will be released in February. In this seventh installment of the well-known strategy games, you again choose the most famous world leaders in history to build your kingdom.

According to the game’s creators, this latest installment is revolutionary in the way strategy games play. At least the graphics look great.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 | Feb. 11

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was a game that took most people a bit by surprise. This medieval adventure excelled in its battles, which take place entirely in first person. The story about the farmer’s son who worked his way up to knight continues here again.

Only one trailer of the game has been released yet. That one looks mostly very comical. But if the game looks anything like the first part, it will be in good shape on the PlayStation 5.

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows | Feb. 14

The game had barely been announced or Assassin’s Creed: Shadows was already causing a small riot. Fans disagreed that the games deviated so far from the original trilogy in terms of gameplay. According to its creators, Shadows should completely rectify that.

At least the environments – medieval Japan – look beautiful. This is the first time in the series that we can sneak across the rooftops like an actual ninja.

Monster Hunter Wilds | Feb. 28

Monster Hunter Wilds is said to be the next generation of the Monster Hunter series using the full power of the PlayStation 5. With a reveal at The Game Awards 2023, we got a glimpse of the new experience, which features a “new level of detailed creatures and ecosystems” in what looks like one sprawling open-world setting.

There is still much we don’t know about the adventure, but it certainly gives off a similar vibe to Monster Hunter World. That game is designated as one of the most successful parts of the Monster Hunter series.

Split Fiction | March 6

This will be a game especially for fans of It Takes Two. That cooperative game is one of the most successful of its kind. The makers of It Takes Two are making another attempt to make a cooperative game for the PlayStation 5.

This time it is not about a bickering couple, but about two writer who disagree on which genre their story should go. One favors fantasy, while the other likes sci-fi. The story they experience brings together the extreme of those two worlds.

Atomfall | TBA

Atomfall is easily one of the most exciting games coming to the PlayStation 5 in 2025. It is a survival game inspired by real-life events. You have to explore a fictional quarantine zone and collect things to survive. Along the way, you will discover a host of characters and stories.

According to the PlayStation Store description, Atomfall will have a dark mystery for us to unravel and let us interact with cults and rogue government agencies. It just might be the best Fallout alternative ever.

Death Stranding 2 | TBA

Kojima Productions is back with Death Stranding 2, and although Kojima claims it is only a working title for now, it is a sequel to the 2019 game. With it, we return to the bizarre and post-apocalyptic world from the first installment.

Death Stranding did not please everyone. The game was described as a package delivery simulation, which it kind of was. Yet it turned out to contain one of the most compelling stories we’ve ever gotten from Kojima.

Wondering where GTA 6 belongs on this list? It just might be the game of 2025. You can read it here:
