These new games we want to see on the Nintendo Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 is on its way. As far as we’re concerned, these games should definitely not be missing from the Switch successor’s catalog.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been announced. We now know what the long-awaited sequel to Nintendo success console will finally look like.

It’s just not yet clear what games we can expect to see on the Switch 2. At the announcement, we seemed to see the first images of Mario Kart 9. But what other games does the console have in store for us? In any case, we hope to see these games.

These games are not to be missed on the Nintendo Switch 2

The Switch 2’s new hardware brings plenty of features that we are only too happy to be with new games. As far as we are concerned, these games should not be missing from the Nintendo Switch 2’s catalog.

Mario Kart 9

It is more than good news that we are getting a new Mario Kart. Only limited footage was shown during the Switch 2 announcement, but it was more than enough to make fans go crazy.

So it’s really nice that we don’t have to speculate ad nauseam, because the game is just coming. We are also anxious to see what innovation the game will bring. Mario Kart 8 revolutionary. How will part 9 handle it?

Kid Icarus Uprising HD

Kid Icarus is a bit of a forgotten Nintendo title. The winged hero Pit was a frequent presence on the NES and SNES, but for many has now been reduced to “Pit” in the Smash Bros. games. And that’s even though we saw another great game in the series pass by on the Nintendo 3DS.

Therefore, the Switch 2 could be the perfect opportunity to bring the character back into the spotlight. Moreover, more people could get the chance to play Kid Icarus Uprising. It is arguably the best installment in the entire series. Of course, an HD polish wouldn’t go amiss either.

Super Mario Odyssey 2

Super Mario Odyssey is to this day one of the best-selling Switch games ever. And how could it be. The game raked in award after award and is actually the perfect 3D Mario game. Even after more than six years, the game is still ahead of its contemporaries in many ways.

So a sequel featuring Mario and his magical cap Cappy is more than welcome on the Nintendo Switch 2. With more graphics processing power, we could get even bigger and more detailed levels. After all, that’s what made Mario Odyssey so good, those vast and filled to the brim levels.

Baldur’s Gate 3

Not an original Nintendo title, but certainly one of the best games of the last decade. Baldur’s Gate 3 is, according to some, the best RPG ever made. The game would be a great addition to the Switch catalog, and it’s certainly not entirely inconceivable.

For example, the game can already be played on the Steam Deck, the albeit in some ways slightly more advanced version of the Switch. We’ve also seen big games appear on the Switch before, such as Hogwarts Legacy. Yes, those games are quite scaled down and suspended, but they are certainly playable.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

Remakes of The Legend of Zelda continue to be a popular approach for Nintendo. In fact, every console generation we have seen a Zelda story from the old box completely polished. From The Wind Waker on the Wii U to the more recent Skyward Sword on the Nintendo Switch.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess misses out on a revamp all the time. Technically, the version on the Wii is already a remake of the original on the Gamecube, but since the bulk of gamers only played the game for the first time on the Wii, that doesn’t count. So Nintendo: Twilight Princess HD, please!

Tomodachi Life

Another top 3DS game that far too few people have played. Tomodachi Life was Nintendo’s attempt to combine The Sims with their own Mii dolls. And with success. In this game, you could fill an island with your own created Miis and then let them live their (comical) lives.

On the Switch, of course, we had Animal Crossing: New Horizons which fairly satiated the need for this life-sim, but a sequel or even a remake of Tomodachi Life would certainly not be out of place. The game excelled in its humor and simple interface, something the Switch 2 catalog could certainly use.
