Wordle has been one of the most popular word games on the Internet for months now. Knotwords now opens full attack on that title.
Wordle became a new hit on the Internet out of nowhere. Especially through Twitter, players shared their results. It caused even more people to start playing it to trounce each other. It was even such a success that the New York Times decided to buy the game so that it could only be played through their site.
Wordle must make way
Wordle is a kind of Lingo. You get six chances to guess a word. If a letter is in the right place it turns green. If the letter is in the word, but in the wrong place, you get a yellow patch.
Wordle is still popular, but it seems to be slowly leveling off. Fortunately, for people who can’t get enough of word games, there is a new alternative. One with a lot of potential. Meet Knotwords.
This is Knotwords
Knotwords is like a mix between sudoku and a crossword puzzle. The player is presented with a white surface with different areas in it. In some of these areas are letters that must be used to make a word. Eventually you have to make words from left to right and from top to bottom which is quite difficult. So it is something else than what you are used to from Wordle.
Unlike Wordle, you don’t play Knotwords through the browser. You have to download the app for this. By the way, the game is completely free, although you can choose to pay to get access to even more puzzles. That is not necessarily necessary, because every day a new one is released and every month there are a whole bunch of new standard puzzles.
Like Wordle, Knotwords allows you to share your results with friends and family via social media. In addition, the game also keeps track of time and the number of hints used. This way you can really prove who is the fastest.
Knotwords is available for download from the App Store, Google Play and Steam via this link.
