The PlayStation 6 is likely to appear in 2027
Although nothing at all has been confirmed yet around Sony’s next generation of consoles, there are several hints at a release date, for example. The PlayStation 6 is expected to arrive in 2027. We know this because of a legal document from Activision Blizzard.
This document was prepared during Activision’s acquisition of Blizzard. The document briefly talks about when the new line of PlayStation will be released. Unfortunately, the date is crossed out, but is associated with Call of Duty.

Attentive readers have found what is meant by this. This is about an agreement by Sony with Activision that they will continue to offer their games on the PlayStation at least until 2027. This agreement will expire with the release of the new PlayStation: in 2027, that is.
The price range of the console
The price tag of the PlayStation 5 Pro was a bit of a gulp for many people. The standard PS5 was already more expensive than we had ever experienced, and the Pro variant adds to that: the thing will cost 799 euros.
And that’s even without a disk drive, which sells separately around 120 euros. Should Sony continue this price range into the next generation, gamers will have to dig deep into their pockets for the PS6.

Considering the expected hardware of the PS6, it is obvious that the console will cost at least 600 euros. It is possible that the price will still vary if Sony starts offering multiple models again.
Little clarity on hardware
Big chance Sony will continue its partnership with chipmaker AMD PS6. This would make sense, as this is the same chipset used in the PS5. This would create compatibility between the PlayStation 5 and 6. The next generation of AMD chips is scheduled for 2025, so could be used for the PS6.
In terms of storage, a standard 2 TB of memory is the obvious choice. This large storage has increasingly become the norm in recent years and obviously necessary to store large games.
Unfortunately, that’s where hardware information ends. Since Sony has not confirmed anything yet, it remains guesswork as to what components will be used in the console.

Features of the PlayStation 6
Tech platform Insider Gaming claims to have a document about a very unique feature being worked on for the PS6, called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). This technology would allow games to run at 4K at 120 frames per second (fps) or 8K at 60 fps.
This technology has already been confirmed as part of the PS5 Pro, so it makes sense that an improved version would also run on the PS6. Since we do not yet know the hardware of the PS6, it also remains guesswork.
