It may be years before Elden Scrolls VI comes to the Xbox and possibly the PlayStation. Still, a new Skyrim game is on the way.
The Elder Scrolls is one of the most beloved gaming franchises in the world. Those games include Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind. Yet we still have to wait years for a new installment.
Fortunately, fans are not sitting still, as they are coming up with a completely new game to be released in 2025. A combination between Skyrim and Oblivion.
Skyrim and Oblivion coming together
The new project is supposed to bring Oblivion to Skyrim and is appropriately called Skyblivion. The idea is actually quite simple: you can play Oblivion as a mod for Skyrim. This allows you to relive the adventure, but with much better graphics, which can keep you entertained for quite a long time.
The creators have created a video set in Chorrol, one of the locations in Oblivion. It looks the same as in the original game, but the Skyrim graphics provide much better picture quality. As a result, the characters’ faces no longer look as flattened as in the original game.
Still, the most striking thing is that the landscapes are much more expansive, as you recognize from Skyrim. This is because the mod, by using the Skyrim engine, can render much more. In addition, a number of environments have been redesigned to look even better.
Awaiting Elder Scrolls games
Unfortunately, there is still a drawback: we will have to wait for the game for now. The mod is only scheduled for 2025, but a true successor to Skyrim is still much further away from us.
In the meantime, here’s something else for true Skyrim fans. Bethesda itself is coming out with The Elder Scrolls Castles, a special game for iPhone and Android. This game has a lot in common with Fallout Shelter.
Instead of a Vault, you now build your own dynasty to help your kingdom flourish. In addition, you manage your own castle and can easily add rooms. This game will be available for download starting September 10. Well it is a tad different from the traditional Skyrim.
