January promises to be a standout month for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. With GTA 5, it loses one of its biggest titles. Fortunately, plenty of great stuff is coming in return.
Xbox Game Pass is a kind of Netflix in gaming. For a flat monthly fee, you can play quite a few games at no extra cost. This includes big titles like Starfield, Assassin’s Creed, and GTA 5. Unfortunately, you will soon have to do without the latter.
In its place are also a number of new games that you can play with your subscription. We list what’s coming and what’s disappearing from the service.
Games like GTA 5 are disappearing from Xbox Game Pass
First, let’s start with the games you will soon no longer be able to play through Xbox Game Pass. The biggest title is GTA 5. If you want to play the game until the launch of GTA 6 part 5 on your Xbox Series S or X, you will really have to buy it.
But besides GTA 5, other games are disappearing, including two from the popular Persona series. To be exact, they are Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.

Two somewhat lesser-known games are also leaving Xbox Game Pass. For example, you will soon no longer be able to race motorcycles in MotoGP 22 and it will no longer be possible to keep up your garden in Garden Story.
New games on your console
But fortunately, you don’t have to sulk about the disappearance of GTA 5 for long, as three new games are also coming to Xbox Game Pass. The most famous is Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. In this part, you are a viking who wants to slowly conquer all of England. In addition, you also promise adventures in Norse mythology.
There is also room for true horror with Resident Evil 2. Although the game is originally from 1998, this 2019 remake is still a delightful game to play. In fact, you can rightfully call it one of the best horror games ever.
Another notable name is Persona 3 Reload. You’re probably wondering why now, since you just read that Persona 3 Portable is disappearing.
Here’s the thing: Persona 3 Reload is a remake of the original version. So you play the game with better specs and mechanics, making it even more enjoyable. This game is coming to Xbox Game Pass in early February
