7 series and movies on Apple TV+ we’re most looking forward to

Apple TV+ is already packed with lots of great content, but there’s much more to come. OMT editor Jeroen Kraak tells you which 7 new titles he is most looking forward to.

Apple TV+ is one of my favorite streaming services. Simple reason: it puts quality far above quantity. Therefore, the company doesn’t mind spending quite a bit of money on new titles. But which seven should you already write down in your calendar?

7 movies and series coming to Apple TV+

Apple TV+ is making both movies and series. As far as I’m concerned, these seven are the cherry-picked future ones.

Napoleon is one of the most famous figures in history. Not surprisingly, Apple TV+ wanted to make a spectacular film of this. We see his brilliant strategic brain and his ruthless ambition.

With Joaquin Phoenix, Apple has found the joker to make this project a success. Accordingly, he takes on the role of the Frenchman. The film is coming to theaters and Apple TV+ this fall.

Killers of the Flower Moon

This is the movie that has been floating around since the beginning of Apple TV+ by now. I’m talking about Killers of the Flower Moon, which is directed by Martin Scorsese. The production features a veritable cast of stars including Robert De Niro, Leonardo DiCaprio and Lily Gladstone.

Killers of the Flower Moon is a mix of western and crime. When oil is discovered beneath the soil of native Americans, white men with evil intentions pounce on it to enrich themselves. This leads to murder and manipulation. We won’t be surprised if this film competes for the Oscars.

Speaking of a star-studded cast, the same is true of Argylle. In this film we see Henry Cavill, Sam Rockwell, Bryce Dallas Howard, Bryan Cranston, John Cena, Dua Lipa, Ariana DeBose and Samuel L. Jackson.

Apple TV+ doesn’t want to reveal much about the plot just yet. All the streaming service does want to say is that in Argylle we follow an eponymous spy who travels the world for his work. From London and New York to exotic orders. The film should be released sometime in 2023.

The Crowded Room

Tom Holland, of course, we know mostly as Spider-Man, but that the actor is very versatile is something he proved in Apple TV+’s Cherry, among others. Soon he will return to the streaming service with The Crowded Room.

Yes, this is totally different from Spider-Man. In this ten-part series, he plays a man who is arrested in 1979 after a shooting in New York. During the interrogations, we see his particular history.

Masters of the Air on Apple TV+

Like Killers of the Flower Moon, this series has been going around since the streaming service’s inception. But unlike the aforementioned film, this series still has no release date. However, it does seem that it will really come out in 2023 after all.

This project by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks centers on bomber pilots during World War II. As such, this is a follow-up to Band of Brothers. What is special about this project is that this will be the first show actually made by an Apple studio.

Earlier in this list we featured Spider-Man, now Luther is there. Well, Idris Elba. The actor already has some great roles to his name, and there’s another one coming this year. And pretty soon, because Hijack will be broadcast by Apple TV+ starting June 28.

The series lasts seven hours, which is exactly the time of the entire event. In fact, it takes place in a seven-hour flight that is hijacked. Elba plays a negotiator who must solve the problem. But does he succeed?

Formula 1 and Apple TV+

This movie does not have a name yet, but we already know that Apple TV+ is in full swing with this. It stars Brad Pitt in the role of a Formula One driver returning after his brief retirement. Together with a rookie, he takes on the titans of the sport.

What is special about this title is that Lewis Hamilton is involved as a producer. Also, Brad Pitt will drive a real Formula 2 car on a circuit for the film. There have been some rumors about this, but no real clarity on this yet. Nor is that clarity yet about a release date.
