Apple bets on True Crime with ‘The Big Conn’ series and podcast

Apple bets on True Crime with The Big Conn series

True Crime is very popular these days. On Netflix we can find a lot of exciting series. In a documentary style, stories are then told of various crimes that have taken place. With The Big Conn, Apple wants to get a piece of the pie.

This will be a four-part series that will appear on Apple TV+. There will also be a special podcast that will appear exclusively on Apple Podcasts. So in that way, The Big Conn should become a big thing in terms of True Crime for the company.

The Big Conn on Apple TV+

The Big Conn on Apple TV+ revolves around former lawyer Eric C. Conn. He practiced in the U.S. State of Kentucky, but a very decent lawyer he was not. In fact, he allegedly committed fraud against the government. He is alleged to have initiated various cases for clients who had suffered damages, for example, from an accident. He often ended up before the same judge. He had bribed the judge and as a result he often got his way. He kept the money he subsequently took, for a large part for himself. In the end, he managed to collect half a billion American dollars. The video below gives you a good idea.

In 2017, he was convicted in absentia for that. The best man had fled in the meantime. But a few months later, he was arrested. He went to visit a local Pizza Hut in Honduras and was recognized there. Currently, the man is in the U.S. prison where he is serving a 15-year sentence. So this is all going to come up in The Big Conn on Apple TV+. In the podcast, you’ll get deeper background information, which will go into his eccentric lifestyle, for example.

Coming soon

We won’t have to wait very long for The Big Conn on Apple TV+. The series and its accompanying podcast is scheduled for May 5. On March 16 during SXSW, visitors will have the opportunity to watch the first two parts. Hopefully the series is going to belong to a lineup of other cool True Crime series.
