Are you experiencing problems with your Apple TV’s Siri Remote? Is the remote no longer working the way you are used to or does pressing a button not give the desired result? These tips will help you solve the problems easily.
Problems with the Siri Remote for Apple TV can often be solved by going through a few steps or updating. These are software fixes. Of course, if moisture has gotten between the buttons or the buttons are worn out, it’s a different story.
Apple TV: here’s how to fix problems with the Siri Remote
Most problems with electronic devices can be solved by simply restarting the device. With the Apple TV and the Siri Remote, it’s no different. Press and hold the TV button and the lower volume button simultaneously for about 5 seconds.
The status light on your Apple TV will turn on and off. Release the buttons. Now wait about 10 seconds until you get a message in your TV’s picture that the connection has been lost. Once the Siri Remote is restarted, hopefully the problems will be fixed.
Another option is to unplug the Apple TV for a while. In that case, do turn the device off before unplugging it. Then wait at least 5 seconds and then plug it back in and turn the device back on.

Other possible solutions
If restarting your Apple TV and the Siri Remote doesn’t work, make sure your device has been updated to the latest version of tvOS. You can control this through your iPhone or iPad.
Also, when the remote’s batteries are low, there may be lag problems or certain buttons will no longer work properly. Logically, it is then smart to put the Siri Remote on the charger for a while. Do this for at least half an hour.
Also, make sure you are not standing too far away from your Apple TV (maximum 6 meters) and make sure there are no obstacles between the Siri Remote and the media player. If the device is in a cabinet, try the remote when the TV cabinet door is open.
