Last month, Apple officially announced WWDC 2022. That’s the annual conference for developers, which is centered around mostly software updates. This year, those developers can register for an in-person event at Apple Park. The company is now sending out invitations for that to the lucky few.
It won’t have escaped anyone’s notice that in-person events, where people actually get together to shake hands, were long suspended. The pandemic is not quite over yet, but companies are now daring to organize such events again. We can now see this happening at Apple with WWDC 2022.
WWDC 2022 at Apple Park
Although all of WWDC 2022 will be recorded and broadcast online, some developers will still get a chance to stop by Apple at Apple Park. There they can take a seat in the room where the annual keynote is held. They will then be in the same room as engineers and designers from the iPhone maker.

The invitations that Apple is sending out for this are now going out the door. You don’t just get an invitation, because you still had to register as a developer. You had to do that via the Apple Developer website. Because the pandemic is not yet completely over, there are still some restrictions.
Getting together with fewer people
Thus, fewer people are welcome in the venue. That’s why Apple made sure that registering and attending that event during WWDC 2022 is free. By the way, registering was possible between May 9 and May 11. Meanwhile, the selection of developers has been made, “based on a random process,” according to the company.
Should you be invited to the event, you will have to abide by the rules set by Apple. Specifically, these are rules regarding your health and the health of those around you. Among other things, you must have a negative coronal test, which is no older than three days. Wearing a mouth mask is optional; but that can still change if the local government decides otherwise.
