You can’t just buy a new iPhone every year. We understand that and that’s not a bad thing at all. But we also understand that you then find it a shame not to be able to use the new Dynamic Island, for example. But there is now a trick for that, which you can try at your own risk.
A developer has managed to port Dynamic Island to older iPhone models. So good news for anyone who wants that cool island but doesn’t have hundreds of dollars to spend. There are some drawbacks to using and installing it, but that doesn’t necessarily spoil the fun.
Installing DynamicCow on iPhone
Unfortunately, you can’t just download the app that pulls this off, DynamicCow, from the App Store. Since sideloading is still not a thing on iOS, you need a third-party store. This does not require you to jailbreak your iPhone. But how do you go about it? We’ll give you some steps for this Dynamic Island.

First, you need to install AltServer on your Mac. With that, you can install files on your iPhone that you need for this Dynamic Island. Then you need to install the Mail Plugin and activate it within that program’s settings. Now connect your smartphone to your Mac and then install AltServer on the iOS device.
Dynamic Island on older models
On the iPhone, next open the AltStore, where you can log in with your Apple ID. After that, visit DynamicCow’s Github page and download the latest version. Open the store, go to the plus icon on the My Apps page install the DynamicCow.ipa file to get the Dynamic Island.
Open DynamicCow and select the Dynamic Island version you want to use. Now press enable. And that’s basically it; now you have Dynamic Island on an older iPhone. Should you want to uninstall the app, disable the island completely first. Otherwise, you will have to reinstall the app before the island disappears from view.
