Back in February, the iPhone 15 Pro was rumored to be coming out in a new, dark red color. That doesn’t seem to be the only colorful surprise, as the regular 15 is also getting a special lick of paint.
This new rumor comes via an account on Weibo. That previously accurately mentioned that the iPhone 14 Pro would get a new deep purple color option. The account also correctly reported that the iPhone 14 Pro would have a slightly modified camera flash cutout on the back of the device.
iPhone 15 in snazzy new hues
Apple is known for coming out with at least one new color every year. For example, the iPhone 8 Plus got “Product Red. In addition, the iPhone 5c was the first yellow iPhone and also came out in a green color.
The new source describes the color of the 15 Pro as a “crimson” shade (crimson). “It may be slightly lighter” than the deep purple color of the iPhone 14 Pro, but “still very deep,” the account states.
The green color for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus is said to be “close to the green of the iPhone 11 and 12.” These devices were available in a mint green color that was discontinued with the iPhone 13 and did not return with the 14.
Phone made of titanium
In any case, the color options of the iPhone 15 Pro are particularly interesting. This is because, according to several rumors, the Pro will be made of titanium. Apple has been using titanium in the Apple Watch for several years, offering the “natural” and the famous space black coatings.
Given the transition to titanium, Apple will also have to perfect the coating process of the titanium material. This is because the company must consider issues such as yield rates, production time and cost.
So right now, at least this deep red color is planned for the iPhone 15 Pro. Pretty – ugly? Let us know in the comments.
