Pokémon creator now going to work for Apple Arcade

Pokémon is one of the biggest gaming franchises in the world. Maker and creator Game Freak is now going to work for Apple Arcade with a special game.

Did you grow up in the ’90s or later. Then Pokémon was probably a part of your life. You probably played those games to death on your Game Boy, Nintendo DS or Switch. Now Apple users can also get acquainted with Game Freak.

Not Pokémon but Pocket Card Jockey

Before you start cheering now because you think a new Pokémon game is coming to Apple Arcade, we’ll help you out of that dream. It is, in fact, another title from Game Freak. By the way, that doesn’t mean it’s a bad game. Quite the contrary, in fact.

In fact, Game Freak is also the creator of Pocket Card Jockey. The game came out on 2013 on the Nintendo 3DS, but never managed to bring in the numbers of Pokémon. Nevertheless, it’s a fun game and great pastime when you’re on the bus or train.

Pocket Card Jockey: Ride is an RPG in which you collect and breed horses and then race them. This may sound like a mix between Pokémon and Penny or My Little Pony, but it certainly isn’t. In fact, winning those races is not so easy. During the race, you also have to solve card games to make your horse go faster.

Playing on Apple Arcade

Pocket Card Jockey, like Pokémon, has a group of die-hard fans. They think the game is somewhat like Tetris combined with JRPG elements. Still, there was some fuss because of the original. If you choose the male character the objective is to take over your father’s business, while for the female character it is to have children. Something that anno 2023 is no longer possible.

The game appearing on Apple Arcade is a remake of the original. By the way, you don’t have to worry that this is 2D like the original. Pokémon maker Game Freak is also moving with the times and so it is 3D.

You’ll have to wait a while until Pocket Card Jockey comes out. It is only available to Apple Arcade users, which means you have to subscribe to the game streaming service. By the way, that does give you access to many more games. Pokémon Go, of course, you can just play for free.
