Demand for the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max is currently so strong that Apple cannot keep up with production. That’s according to a memo in the hands of Macrumors’ editors. That memo is intended for investors, where analysts, among others, have their say on the current state of affairs.
In this case, it is analyst David Vogt, of the investment firm UBS. He bases the finding, that consumers are having to wait longer for their iPhones, on data from 30 countries. A simple explanation is available for the longer wait times. The popularity of iPhones.
iPhone 14 Pro very popular
In the United States, it can take up to 25 days to receive an iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max. That’s because Apple sold more iPhones in the month of September than the company expected in advance. So this time around, the long delivery times have nothing to do with lockdowns in China for a while.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max have been on sale since September, so they were produced from the summer. Back then, manufacturers in China were open as usual, although there were some production issues here and there. But so the most recent temporary factory closures did not affect that initial production.
Higher resale rate?
In addition, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max may have a higher resale percentage compared to last year’s models. For the Pro models, that probably comes to as much as fifty percent. Beyond that, there is also simply a higher demand noted for the Pro models.
Furthermore, Vogt believes that recent covid-19 outbreaks in China could throw a spanner in the works in the coming weeks. Foxconn reportedly can produce fewer iPhones as a result, which could have a negative effect on the stock. Whether that becomes true remains to be seen – let’s hope wait times don’t start increasing everywhere.
