The popular iPhone that misses out on the iOS 16 update this fall

While iOS 16 delivers new pleasant features for a lot of iPhone users, there are unfortunately some users who miss out. Unlike iOS 15, support for iOS 16 drops off for certain models.

Despite the dissatisfaction of some users, Apple is still holding its name high, by the way. The oldest model to get the new software dates back to 2017.

These iPhone models are getting iOS 16

iOS 16 is not coming to the same iPhone models this year as iOS 15 did. In fact, there are three devices that are dropping out. Besides the 2015 iPhone 6S, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus don’t seem to be getting the new update either. Annoying for people who are still using smartphones in 2022. Especially, since the latter two devices still have a fanatical group of fans to this day.

That these fans are anything but happy with Apple’s decision becomes clear on Twitter. Surely the place to share your displeasure about everything in life with others. One user even says he cried over Apple’s decision not to roll out iOS 16 for smartphones. “Why, why, why? No iOS 16 support for the iPhone 7. I was incredibly nervous yesterday and even cried.” This was user Balogh Claudiu Gabriel’s response to a tweet from Tim Cook.

If you have an iPhone 7 Plus or older, then you will unfortunately miss out on the update. If you have an iPhone 8 or newer, then something wonderful awaits you this fall.

Somewhere the frustration is understandable

People who still have an iPhone 7 in 2022 can be put away as consumers who are extremely frugal with their belongings. While there is certainly something to be said for the fact that they could have expected this decision, the annoyance is also certainly understandable somewhere. For example, one user rightly wonders why his iPhone 7, with the A10 Fusion chip, is not getting iOS 16 while other devices with the same chip are. The sixth- and seventh-generation iPad do get the new operating system.

Twitter won’t load because you didn’t give permission.

Apple not supporting ios 16 on iPhone 7 might be most weird thing i ever saw
Worst part is
Ipads that are LESS powerful than iphone 7 wilk get the new ios
What kind of logic is that apple?

Apple has not yet provided an explanation for this decision, and to be perfectly honest, it would be helpful to get one before we can really understand it.
