Why ‘Duplicate parts’ in Photos won’t show up on your iPhone

Your iPhone’s photo library can be tidier than before, thanks to iOS 16. Thanks to Duplicate Parts, it is possible to easily merge duplicate photos. Although there are some consumers who don’t get to see the feature.

Following the request of many of those consumers, Apple is now clarifying. Yes, the album may not show up within the Photos app. No, it is not impossible to do anything about it.

iOS 16: this is how to conjure up Duplicate Items on your iPhone

The reason some consumers are unable to access Duplicate Items is pretty simple, according to Apple. On its support page, the company explains that it has to do with the Photos app and its sync. Once you don’t see the folder on your iPhone, it simply means that your photo library is not yet fully synced.

That happens completely automatically by the way, but fortunately there is a way you can give iOS 16 a push. Make sure your iPhone is locked, put it on the charger and wait. The process of syncing depends entirely on the other activities in the background and the size of your photo library. So close all apps in the background, limit the number of apps within Refresh on background and leave your iPhone unlocked.

How do I stop background activity?

To stop the background activity of certain apps, go to ‘Settings’ on your iPhone. Then choose ‘General’ and ‘Refresh on background’. Select the apps that should not be active and disable them.

Once synchronization is complete, you will encounter the Duplicate items in the Photos app on your iPhone. It’s at the bottom of your albums under the Other heading. If the folder is still not there after a few hours or a few days, then your library is better cleaned up than you thought. This is because Apple removes the folder as soon as it cannot be filled with duplicate photos.
