It took a long time, but since iOS 16 it is possible to admire your iPhone’s battery percentage. At least, if you have the right model. In fact, there are some consumers who do not have access to the functionality.
At first, you would think that this is mostly about the old models with physical home button. However, nothing seems to be further from the truth.
Battery percentage iOS 16 missing on iPhone
iOS 16 is a hefty update that significantly tweaks consumers’ iPhones. For example, it is again possible to see the battery percentage. Almost all iPhone models and iPad models, which support the software, have the functionality. Just not all of them, that is.

Several consumers have already made it known online, but now there is official confirmation from Apple. There are certain iPhone models that do not offer the iOS 16 functionality. These are the following models:
iPhone 12 mini
iPhone 13 mini
The reason you don’t see the percentage is simply because Apple says it does not support the models in question. Why exactly the American company does so is not clear. Does it have to do with the size and type of display? Who knows, but the fact remains that you don’t get to see the percentage on screen constantly.
So how do I see the percentage?
That’s not to say, by the way, that you can’t see your battery percentage at all on your iPhone. Although iOS 16 fixes it for other models, we’ve been working with a workaround for several years. A workaround we can still use anno 2022.
There are several ways to display the battery percentage. The easiest: pop up the control panel (swipe top right corner to center) and the percentage is immediately visible. You’ll notice, it’s next to the battery icon.
Handy, but this is certainly not the only way. Wondering what other steps you can perform? Then be sure to read the article below:
