The Samsung Galaxy Z Fip 4, like the Galaxy Z Fold 4, is officially a reality. With this, the foldable smartphone manages to take a big step for the fourth time. Dennis tells you all about the brand new device in this article.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 is undoubtedly the market leader in foldable smartphones. The device is faster, sturdier and thinner than the competition. And is a tad cheaper than the new Fold4.
Apart from the fact that it is a beautiful looking, even sturdier phone with a slightly larger Cover screen than its predecessor, it is mainly new features that make the Galaxy Z Flip4 even more impressive. I am highlighting five of them.
#1 Hands-free FlexCam mode
One of the impressive modes is the hands-free Flex mode. This allows you to quickly take cool selfies with friends. Not only because the ten megapixel camera is impressive, but also because in Flex mode you get a wider shot of your surroundings.
In addition, shooting a video has been made easier. By first filming with Quickshot you shoot excellent images anyway with the two twelve megapixel cameras on the back, but if you want to continue filming you can bend the Flip4 and use FlexCam in the same shot with the selfie camera and place the phone somewhere to continue filming. So it’s also ideal for content creators.
Samsung has partnered with Meta for this and as a result this feature has been optimized. The tech is mainly developed for apps like Whatsapp, Facebook and Instagram, but no doubt other parties are also working hard to make their apps suitable for the function.
2# Super speed charging
Also, the battery (3,700mAh) is special. Thanks to Super Fast Charging, your phone is charged back up to fifty percent within thirty minutes. For this you do need a 25 watt adapter. Whether this will be included is still uncertain. But we wouldn’t be surprised if you had to buy one. Although there is a good chance that you already have a USB-C charger with that wattage.
#4 Even thinner
If anything, this is a more impressive feat: the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 has become even thinner. When folded in half, the phone is only 17.1 millimeters thick. This is partly due to the fact that Samsung has been particularly progressive in developing thinner screens. Meanwhile, the Flip4’s screen is thinner than a hair. This also ensures that the hinge is more flexible, but also flatter.
#5 Samsung steps up to the super-fast Snapdragon 8
The Flip4 can also compete with competitors’ battleships in terms of speed. Unlike other Dutch Samsung phones with an Exynos processor, the Flip4 uses a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. That in combination with 8GB RAM ensures that you have a snappy phone in your hands that has no trouble at all with games and gives you beautiful images in terms of photos, videos but also the UI on the 120Hz Full HD screen.
Samsung’s rainbow; your phone as you like it
The Flip4 is available to order from now and delivery is from August 11. But you have ‘all’ the time so to choose which color setting you want. Bora Purple (Korean for purple) and new colors like Pink Gold and Blue1 are available. You can also customize your phone with the Galaxy Z Flip 4 Bespoke Edition2 and choose from 75 color combinations.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 won’t come cheap. The entry-level model costs €1099, and then you get 128GB of storage. Models with more storage cost €1159 (256GB) and €1279 (512MB).
Don’t worry if you’re not ready for a new phone yet; the prices of these phones almost always drop significantly. Just set up a Google Alert for them. And if you do want to switch, there is always the Galaxy A13 which costs less than €200.
