The new iPad Pro is the thinnest Apple gadget ever made. However, your iPhone and Apple Watch could become even thinner in the future.
Thought gadgets couldn’t get thinner? Apple has shown with the iPad Pro that it can. Yet it doesn’t stop there, as the Apple Watch and iPhone are also getting a major update.
But what exactly can you expect with your iPhone and Apple Watch, and most importantly, when? We tell you.
A thinner iPhone and Mac after the iPad Pro
Tim Cook proudly said during the presentation of the new iPad Pro that it was the thinnest device Apple has ever made. Even gadgets like the iPod Nano were thicker than Apple’s tablet.
But that iPad Pro seems to be just the beginning, because Apple says other devices can also be much thinner. There are now plans in Cupertino for a thinner iPhone, Apple Watch and MacBook. And we quite understand that it is hard to believe, because the iPhone, for example, is already quite thin. Apple obviously does not want to compromise on performance.
And by thin, we mean really thin. According to Bloomberg’s well-informed Mark Gurman, all those new Apple gadgets, such as the iPhone and Apple Watch, could become the thinnest and lightest in their class.
Still, we will have to wait a while for that thinner iPhone. It won’t see the light of day for the first time until 2025. The big question is whether it will be the replacement for, say, the iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max, or whether Apple will come up with a new variant. According to Gurman, it is expected that the thin model will be more expensive than the Pro Max, while the screen size will be between the Pro and Pro Max.
These are the plans for the Apple Watch Series 10
It is likely we will see a thinner version of the Apple Watch prior to the iPhone first. This news then comes from that other well-informed Apple source: Ming-Chi Kuo. According to him, the Apple Watch Series 10 will get a new design.
According to him, the Apple Watch Series 10 will have a larger screen and will also be thinner. Soon, according to him, you will get the choice of a 45 and 49 mm variant. Now the screen sizes are still at 41 and 45 mm.
Listen to Freakin’ Nerds
WANT editor-in-chief Mark Hofman celebrates in Apple Park not only the 4 million followers of Niels van Straaten (Appledsign), but also the arrival of Apple Intelligence. Is that something to be excited about, how does it work and is it actually safe?
The big question is whether the Apple Watch will get bigger as a result. Perhaps Apple has found a way to reduce screen bezels on the smartwatch. Something the company is getting better at with the iPhone as well.
There were also rumors last year about a flat screen for the Apple Watch. However, those rumors turned out to be false. Perhaps that may change with the Apple Watch Series 10.
