Courtesy of a Korean-leaker named yeux1122 (via Naver), that means we’re already getting a pretty good idea of exactly what these Pro devices have to offer. Hold on tight, because AI and “the longest battery life ever” are flying around the ears again.
iPhone 16 Pro: AI and longest battery life ever
Yes, the new iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will most likely be driven by AI. Now of course this has been happening for a few years in the form of various optimizations and functionalities, but the big bag of tricks may only be opened up this year.
As with the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, there will be several exclusive features to be found in the top models. Personally, I see Apple for throwing AI completely behind Pro lock and key.
According to the same source, the iPhone 16 Pro Max will be the Apple smartphone with the most impressive battery. Whether it will also be physically larger, we don’t know, but improved efficiency could make it the best battery life ever.
So this should make the iPhone 16 Pro Max the battery king of this year. Might sound logical, but last year that certainly wasn’t the case. It was the iPhone 15 Plus that was praised for its insane battery life.
An insane rumor about the Plus
There is even a theory circulating now that Apple is so annoyed by this that the American company is going to make the Plus model’s battery smaller.
On X, the well-known account Majin Bu shares the possible battery capacities of this year’s models. There it can be seen that the iPhone 16 Plus will get a 4006 mAh battery, where the 15 Plus currently has a 4383 mAh battery.

So with a 4676 mAh battery, Apple will be able to offer significantly better battery life with the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Whether this rumor is true…. I doubt it.

In addition to a larger battery and AI, the iPhone 16 Pro will feature a 6.3-inch OLED display and the Pro Max will carry a 6.9-inch OLED display. The dimensions of both devices will remain the same, but the screen edges will be thinner.
There will also be a new Capture button, 48-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 5X telephoto lens and a Super Periscope Camera.
