Android and iOS: 5 bustingly useful To-Do apps for your phone

Android and iOS 5 bustingly useful To Do apps for your

Forgetful we all are at times, but with the right To-Do app, it’s not a bad thing at all. Old-fashioned pieces of paper with some scribbles on them are just not useful. They’re lying around everywhere and they don’t send you reminders. Bring on those crazy handy To-Do apps for your phone!

There are only twenty-four hours in the day and there are so many things we want to do or even have to do. To create order in the chaos called ‘life’, your smartphone can give you a hand. WANT editor Sabine Schults lists the most useful To-Do apps for you.

To-Do apps for your smartphone

Some of the apps in this list you can also use on your PC, so you can access your tasks at any time. Most To-Do apps are fortunately free or at least have a version that you do not have to pay for. In the latter case, the functions are often less extensive, but in most cases that should not spoil the fun. All apps below are available for both Android and iOS.

#1 Todoist

If you need an absolute all-rounder, then Todoist is your greatest friend. The design is simple, but the app is smarter than it looks. For example, if you type in that the container needs to go out Friday morning, the app will take care of it for you. There is no need to fill in a date yourself. Super convenient! Todoist can also work incredibly well with other apps, such as Google Calendar and Slack. The app is packed with features, but unfortunately that means it comes at a price. Although a free version is available, the most useful features are placed behind a paywall.

#2 TickTick

TickTick has a handy built-in calendar, making it easy to see what day you want to finish what. The text in the app is half in Dutch and half in English, which does make it look a little messy. TickTick doesn’t have too much fuss, especially if you stick to the free version. The Premium version allows you to create more lists and tasks than the free version. In addition, you can personalize the app much more to your liking with the paid version, for example through themes.

#3 Microsoft To Do

An app from Microsoft may sound boring, but the company’s To Do app looks very slick. You can create as many lists as you want and repeat tasks automatically. It is also possible to set a due date and reminder. So you don’t have to worry about forgetting that one important task. By adding a task to ‘My day’ you focus on what you want to achieve today and arrange some peace in the chaos. You won’t be distracted by all the other tasks you have to do later in the week. The lists are also easy to share with others.

#4 Google Keep

Somehow Google would like to share two To-Do apps with the world. In addition to Google Tasks, there is also Google Keep. If you like simple and sleek, then the former is a good choice. Google Keep is in my opinion a bit fresher and also has the option to add some colors and images to spice things up a bit. By using labels you can bring order between your different tasks. Important tasks can be put on top and you can set reminders.

#5 ClickUp

ClickUp is ideal to use if you are collaborating on a project, but secretly this app is also very handy for personal use. Everything you would expect from a To-Do app is there and even more. For example, you can use a built-in timer to keep track of how long it takes you to complete a task. ClickUp has a clean look, so you do not easily lose the overview. However, there are simpler apps available that can keep you focused even better.
