According to South Korean website The Elec, Apple is evaluating the new OLED displays of the iPhone 14 this week. The models in question are those with a 6.1-inch display.
Apple is making this decision so close to the start of mass production. It is scheduled to start between July and August.

The OLED panels Apple is making a decision on this week are the ones coming from China’s BOE. The 6.1-inch screens are intended for the entry-level iPhone 14. Earlier, the supplier came under scrutiny after it modified a component of the OLED panels, without telling. Executives from the supplier then talked the situation out with Apple and thus seem to have come to an end. If only to put pressure on other suppliers like LG and Samsung.

It would be convenient for BOE that the decision is made this week. The Chinese company, due to several lockdowns, is experiencing delays. For that reason, it is several weeks behind competitors Samsung and LG. The iPhone 14 series itself just seems to be able to be launched around normal time.
