AI is hard to imagine these days. But Samsung is making a special decision for its new smartphone.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 series will be presented tomorrow, Jan. 22, at Samsung’s Unpacked event. Besides the official launch of the smartphones, this year’s focus is also on the innovative Galaxy AI. This technology aims to make the devices smarter and more user-friendly
Yet Samsung is making an interesting choice in terms of access to this AI technology. According to the latest rumors, the new Galaxy S25 devices will only get free access to Galaxy AI for one year. This means that after that period, users may have to pay additional fees to continue using the AI features.
Samsung Galaxy AI makes devices more accessible
Galaxy AI makes devices even smarter, than they were before. The camera is equipped with the next-gen ProVisual Engine. This would make photos even more natural. Users can also edit photos easier and faster, by removing background objects with a touch of the screen. In addition, Galaxy AI makes it possible to easily edit texts and have them rewritten in a more playful or matter-of-fact way.
When Samsung introduced Galaxy AI in early 2024 with the Galaxy S24 series, the company promised to offer the AI features for free for two years. With the arrival of the new models, we secretly assumed that they too would get those two years of free access, but it turns out that is not the case.
Galaxy Unpacked
In addition to the launch of the standard devices, there is speculation about a possible fourth device, the S25 Slim. In fact, a teaser from Samsung showed four different devices. Whether this phone will then be released at the same time is all but certain. Samsung showed the Galaxy Ring at last year’s event, but it was not released until September.
Samsung’s Unpacked event begins tomorrow at 7 p.m. Dutch time and can be followed live on YouTube.
