Google Pixel 7: why we in the Netherlands are excited about the event

Google Pixel 7 why we in the Netherlands are excited

On Thursday, October 6, the Made By Google event will take place. There, very interesting products will be shown including the Pixel 7 and the Pixel Watch. The reason we are extra excited is because of the fact that not only are we going to see new devices, but they are finally(!) coming out in the Netherlands.

There was some irritation among Android enthusiasts that all the Google Pixel phones never came out in the Netherlands. Now we can joyfully inform you that this will probably be the case with the Pixel 7 and Pixel Watch.

Google Pixel 7, Google Pixel Watch and more?

So Google has already indicated on its site exactly what we will see. In any case, that will be the Pixel 7 and the 7 Pro. Presumably, then, most of the presentation will revolve around these devices.

The new Pixel is not expected to get a hugely significant design update. This device will also reportedly get an aluminum frame that will continue over the rear cameras. Therefore, the major differences from the Pixel 6 are under the hood. The 7 gets the Tensor G2 chip which should make tasks like media playback, voice recognition and photos a lot faster.

Pricing is also the subject of much speculation. According to rumors, the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will cost $599 and $899, respectively. Dutch prices, of course, are not yet known anyway.

WANT previously wrote about why we are so hugely excited that the Google Pixel is coming to the Netherlands, if only because of exclusive Pixel features like Magic Eraser, Real Tone and Face Unblur.

The search and tech giant is also showing the Google Pixel Watch: the first smart watch the company is bringing to market. The watch runs on Google’s Wear OS 3 and integrates Fitbit. The watch also has all the other fitness features you would expect from a modern smartwatch.

Google will also be coming out with new Nest devices. Exactly what we can expect from those is not yet known.

The entire event can be followed live here on Thursday from 10 p.m. onwards. By the way, the announced products will be available for sale on the Google Store immediately that day.
