Although the Samsung Galaxy S25 is only just out, we’re secretly already looking at another Android smartphone. And no, it is not one that is really among the top models. It is, in fact, the Google Pixel 9A.

Just as Apple comes out with an iPhone SE and Samsung always has an FE edition, Google also regularly comes out with a budget model of its top devices. This is the so-called A edition. For example, last year we saw the Google Pixel 8A. This year, another 9A seems to be on the cards as well.
One of the most special features of the Google Pixel 9A is the back. The camera takes up a lot less space. In fact, this Android smartphone is rumored to not get a so-called camera bump at all, or that widening at the back for the camera. Something almost every smartphone has.

According to rumors, the Google Pixel 9A will have a 48 MP main camera and a 13 MP ultra-wide-angle camera on the back. On the front, in turn, there is a 13 MP camera, reports Android Headlines.
What is noteworthy to mention is that there is a 5,100 mAh battery inside. This is the largest battery to date in a Google Pixel. This makes it the same size as that of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, Samsung’s flagship device.
We won’t have to wait long for this Android smartphone. According to rumors, the Google Pixel 9A should be released sometime in March. The price is around that of the 8A according to the rumors which means 549 euros.
A glimpse into the future
With that larger battery that fits into a cheaper model and the disappearance of the camera bump, the Google Pixel 9A is a special smartphone to keep an eye on.
Google has found a way to make its smartphone narrower, and obviously Samsung and Apple are doing the same. So this Android smartphone already gives us a small glimpse of what we can expect in the near future.
