Huawei presented a number of new products today. We tell you all about the MAte X6, FreeBuds Pro 4 and the Watch D2
The Chinese New Year is about to begin and is an ideal time for Huawei to launch new products. It is coming out with a folding phone, earbuds and a smartwatch.
The latter in particular is special. It is the earlier smartwatch that can measure your blood pressure and is certified in Europe.
The Huawei Mate X6: the latest folding phone
The Huawei Mate X6 is Huawe’s latest folding phone. The brand places particular emphasis on its cameras. To be precise, there are four of them. These are a 48 MP telephoto macro camera, a 40 MP ultra wide-angle camera, a 50 MP Ultra Aperture Camera and an Ultra Chroma Sensor with 1.5 million pixels.
The latter camera unit should provide even better colors and works in conjunction with the other three cameras. A new feature is Ultra Snapshot: the camera automatically detects the object and takes both a short and a long shot. AI merges these so you get better images, especially with motion.

In addition, the phone features Extended Depth of Field. This combines multiple frames, revealing more depth and making everything even more detailed.
This foldable weighs 239 grams and has second-generation Kunlun glass on the front, which offers 25 times more protection against drop damage. The hinge is 27 percent stronger than that of its predecessor and should also dissipate heat 33 percent better.
The device has an X-True display with a maximum brightness of 2,500 nits. It also allows you to use three apps simultaneously, making the Mate X6 ideal for multitasking.
However, Android is missing from this device due to the US boycott. So you’ll have to make do with Huawei’s own ecosystem. You do need to bring a big bag of money for this smartphone, as it will cost you 1,999 euros.
Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4: premium earbuds with top sound
Users get seven different attachments with the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4. Here, not only the size can be chosen, but also the material. What immediately stands out is the sleek design.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 offers a transfer rate of up to 2.3 MB per second, allowing 24-bit/48 kHz lossless audio to be streamed. However, this top speed only works with selected Huawei smartphones, as the technology used is not yet supported by other smartphone manufacturers.

On the inside, each earpiece has two drivers: one for bass and one for ultra-high tones. The software provides triple adaptive EQ, which automatically adjusts the sound to what you’re listening to.
In addition, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 4 filter out ambient noise. Active noise cancellation is 30 percent better than its predecessor. Even during a concert with a noise level of 100 dB, you could still have a good phone conversation.
The earphones’ battery lasts for 7 hours when fully charged. With the case, you get a total playback time of 31 hours. These earbuds will cost you 199 euros.
Huawei Watch D2: smart blood pressure monitor on your wrist
What’s special about the Huawei Watch D2 is that it can measure your blood pressure. It is only 1/25 the size of a traditional blood pressure monitor.
The smartwatch is cuff-based and is the only smartwatch recognized as accurate by the medical community. It supports readings between 40 and 230 mmHg and has CE MDR medical certification and ISO validation.
In the Netherlands, 3 million people between the ages of 30 and 70 have hypertension, which is a risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The Watch D2 even measures your blood pressure at night, allowing you to detect early signs of disease.
In addition, the smartwatch solves a major problem. A 24-hour blood pressure reading is normally done through the hospital and is expensive and inconvenient because of the measuring box you have to carry with you. The Huawei Watch D2 makes this unnecessary. Through an app, you can create a measurement plan and easily export the data to a document, for example, to take to your doctor.
In addition, the Watch D2 makes less noise and gives less pressure than a traditional blood pressure monitor.
A full-fledged smartwatch
But in addition to a blood pressure monitor, this is of course a full-fledged smartwatch, with all the features you’re used to. The design is reminiscent of the Apple Watch, with a button protruding a little further under the Digital Crown. The smartwatch is available in black and white. The band is essential, as it takes blood pressure readings.
Furthermore, the Huawei Watch D2 has other health functions, such as an ECG and measuring the oxygen level in your blood. This data can be securely and easily shared with family members. Also, the smartwatch supports more than 80 different workouts.
One drawback is that the Huawei Watch D2 is not fully waterproof due to the technology used for blood pressure measurement. Swimming or other water sports are therefore not possible.
The battery lasts 6 days and the smartwatch is compatible with both iOS and Android. you pay 399 euros for this one.
