iPhone 14 Pro (Max) may feature a larger screen

If the latest rumors are to be believed, the various iPhone 14 models will have larger screens than their predecessors. The fact that the displays will be larger is partly due to a significant change in the design of the smartphones. The notch will disappear and that means extra screen space.

The notch is an eyesore for many people. It takes up a large part of the screen and can therefore get in the way. Android smartphones have had a small camera hole underneath or in the screen for years. The notch has disappeared, leaving more room for the screen.

iPhone 14 without a notch?

The same seems to be happening now with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. Indeed, display analyst Ross Young reports on Twitter that the screens of the upcoming models will be larger than their predecessors. Admittedly, the differences are not very big; perhaps they can even be called negligible.

iPhone 13 Pro Max – 6.68″

Differences due to pill + hole replacing the notch and narrower bezels.

The difference in screen size between the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro is 0.06 inches, while the Pro Max models record a difference of 0.01 inches. So that’s not much. But this is due to an important design change: namely, the disappearance of the notch. At least, that’s what rumor-makers are reporting.

What will happen to the camera?

Apple itself has not yet released anything about this. But rumor mongers and analysts have been reporting for weeks that the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will get a kind of pill-shaped notch that takes up a smaller portion of the screen. In addition, the bezels will be somewhat thinner, thus creating more screen space.

Furthermore, the image of the larger screens will lean towards the optical appearance. Indeed, the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will reportedly not be larger, wider or thicker. So then you have a larger screen in the same casing as last year’s phones. Anyway; that the notch will disappear in its current form, we can only welcome.
