Android Auto may crash on Samsung smartphones
You’re just on the road, and suddenly your Android Auto crashes. Not very convenient, especially if you’re using your navigation. This can happen if you have the most recent update installed.
This problem is related to the Auto Blocker feature on Samsung smartphones. This feature blocks all USB connections except for charging. This seems like a good safety measure, but it also has a downside: Android Auto does not work properly if you connect your smartphone to your car via a cable.

This problem only applies if you connect Android Auto with a cable. If you are using a wireless connection, then you should not experience any problems.
Here’s how to solve the problem
The good news is that this problem is easy to avoid. That’s because the Auto Blocker feature is not enabled by default on Samsung smartphones. You can also easily disable it.
To disable this feature, go to Settings > Security & Privacy > Auto Blocker > Maximum Restrictions. Here you need to uncheck all the checkboxes. To disable Auto Blocker completely, you need to enter your PIN. Does your Android Auto suddenly stop working? If so, make sure this feature is completely disabled.
