Nothing is betting big on 2025. It wants to develop a new flagship to compete with the iPhone 16 and the Samsung Galaxy S25.
Nothing can rightly be called a special brand. The company, founded by OnePlus founder Carl Pei, has managed to reach a sizable audience with its eye-catching smartphones and earbuds.
Until now, Nothing has focused mainly on the mid-range segment, but a big change is coming in 2025. For the first time, the brand plans to launch a true flagship that will compete with big names such as Samsung and Apple.
Nothing now wants to really compete with Samsung and Apple
According to rumors, Nothing wants to release three new smartphones by 2025. The most important model seems to be the Nothing Phone 3. Originally this device was planned for 2024, but the AI features were not good enough yet. Therefore, the release has been postponed to this year.
In a leaked email to his employees, Carl Pei confirms that the Phone 3 is due in 2025. He calls the upcoming year the biggest in the history of Nothing.

The top executive also hints at what to expect: “We are introducing groundbreaking innovations in the user interface, taking our first steps toward an AI-powered platform.”
Reading his e-mail, a release in the first quarter seems likely. Pei calls this a “milestone,” suggesting the announcement will take place during MWC 2025 in Barcelona. The tech fair will be held in early March.
The plans
If it is indeed a flagship, the price will be higher than what we are used to from Nothing. The Nothing Phone (2) cost 699 euros at launch. A top-of-the-line model will likely cost around 1,000 euros, putting it in direct competition with Samsung and Apple.
For that amount, users should get something special. The Phone 3 is expected to get a significantly better camera and processor than its predecessors. To achieve that, Nothing has increased its camera and software team by 50 percent over the past year.
Little is yet known about the other two smartphones planned for 2025. They may include Phone 3a, a cheaper variant of the Phone 3. In addition, the company could launch a new CMF Phone.
