OnePlus wants to charge your next smartphone even faster

OnePlus and Oppo are still two different companies, but are increasingly working together. The latter company showed two new charging technologies at Mobile World Congress 2022: SuperVOOC 150W and 240W. So it was only a matter of time before a smartphone from OnePlus would also get it.

There is no official announcement yet, but MySmartPrice and Digital Chat Station have already found quite a bit of evidence. A new OnePlus smartphone is coming with a 150W charging capability. Bonus!

Next OnePlus smartphone will charge even faster

OnePlus is going to get its hands on the new Oppo technology, according to two known sources. While charging at 240W remains reserved for Oppo itself, it does seem to share the 150W SuperVOOC technology.

MySmartPrice has found information about a new smartphone from the hand of OnePlus. The model, which won’t be long in coming, will be paired with a 160W charging capability. The most recent model, the OnePlus 10 Pro, currently charges at 80W. So the smartphone will be able to charge twice as fast.

It talks about a 160W power output, but will probably refer to 150W in the specification list.

What device is it?

According to known sources, the smartphone from OnePlus is not long in coming. What kind of model it will actually be is just not known yet. During MWC 2022, for example, it was still denied that the OnePlus 10 Pro will not be supported by a smaller (and cheaper) brother. Of course, the door is still open for another variant, such as an Ultra or a Max.

As mentioned, Oppo and OnePlus, being under the same parent company, work closely together. Thus, the former shares its fast charging technology with the latter. The 240W charging capability only remains very much in the rear.

Curious about the quality of that charging technology? Then be sure to read the article we wrote during MWC 2022!
