Oppo has a new flagship with the Find X8 Pro. The brand is putting the attack on the iPhone 16 and Samsung Galaxy S24.
When we think of the most comprehensive smartphones, we mainly think of the iPhone 16 line and the Samsung Galaxy S24 models. If it is up to Oppo, the Find X8 and X8 Pro will be added to that.
Where the brand mainly wants to make a difference is the camera. For this it is working with the renowned Hasselblad. Can the brand really attack the established order?
This is the Oppo Find X8 Pro
Oppo previously announced the Find X8 and X8 Pro in China, but now the device is also coming to Europe. The device obviously runs on Android, but the brand has put its own shell around it. This is ColorOS 15, which of course relies on AI as well.
The Oppo Find X8 Pro has an exterior of glass and aluminum. On the back, it has made room for the camera. On the front, it opts for a 6.78-inch Ultra HDR display. This has a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1600 nits. When playing HDR content, it can even go up to 4500 nits. The screen bezel Oppo manages to limit to 1.9 mm.

The inside
Under the hood, Oppo opts for a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip for the Find X8 Pro. For that processor, the two companies worked closely on the Trinity Engine, which offers up to a 35 percent faster CPU and a 41 percent faster GPU than its predecessor. To make it work even better, there is a custom cooling system inside the smartphone.
Inside the smartphone are 20 antennas that should ensure optimal range. On top of that, AI should ensure better connections. Thus, according to the company, you upload videos 79 percent faster in crowded environments.
Also under the hood is a 5910mAh battery that Oppo says will last you several days. You can charge it at up to 80W.
Camera of the Oppo Find X8 Pro
But really, the Oppo Find X8 Pro is all about the camera. For the camera system, Oppo once again partnered with the renowned Hasselblad. The smartphone has four 50-megapixel cameras on the back. That includes a periscope camera that can zoom up to 6x.

But a periscope camera is seemingly not enough, as Oppo is throwing in another one that should provide even better zoom performance. Through AI, up to 60x zooming is possible.
The main camera has a 1/1.95-inch Sony LYT600 sensor that should capture low-light photos well. Also present is a wide-angle camera with a 23mm sensor.
The camera is great for filming, as you can capture up to 4K 60fps in Dolby Vision HDR.
AI
On the Oppo Find X, as with other brands, AI is the magic word. Although Oppo packages it slightly differently in terms of wording, it’s the same features you know from Gemini. Think AI photo and note-taking tools.
Price
The Oppo Find X8 Pro is certainly not cheap. You pay 1,149 euros for the one with 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with five years of Android updates and six years of security updates.
