Xiaomi announces during its Launch Event in Berlin that it will release the Mix Flip worldwide. The company is also launching the 14T and the 14T Pro.
Flip phones are becoming increasingly popular. Samsung and Motorola are actually the only two brands doing anything with the unique shape with the Galaxy Z Flip6 and Razr 50 Ultra. But they are gaining a competitor: Xiaomi.
The Chinese brand announced in Berlin that they will release the Xiaomi MixFlip worldwide. Previously, the phone was launched only in China.
What exactly is the Xiaomi Mix Flip?
On paper, the Mix Flip deals rakish blows to the competition, but we secretly already knew that. For example, Xiaomi’s folding phone is said to have a better camera and a larger battery than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6. Also, the screen is larger and brighter than Samsung’s clamshell. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 does have better protection against water and dust with an IP48 rating. The Mix Flip does not have this.
The Mix Flip’s battery has a capacity of 4780 mAh. The cameras on Xiaomi’s clamshell phone are both 50 megapixels. The clamshell does come with a price tag. For the variant with 12 GB of working memory and 512 GB of storage, you will soon pay 1299 euros. However, this is another 20 euros cheaper than the 512 GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6.

The Xiaomi 14T and 14T Pro bet on night photography
The global launch of Mix Flip was not the only thing Xiaomi announced in Berlin. The 14T and 14T Pro also saw the light of day today. Xiaomi’s smartphones should attract mainly photography enthusiasts, as the cameras should be ideal for night photography. For the camera lenses, Xiaomi is collaborating with Leica and Sony.
The display of the 14T series is a 6.67inch CrystalRes AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution. The refresh rate can reach 144 hertz and the peak brightness can handle up to 4000 nits. The 14T Pro has a 5000 mAh battery and can wirelessly charge up to 50 watts. The regular 14T also has a battery capacity of 5000 mAh and can fast charge up to 67 watts.
Under the hood, the 14T uses the Mediatek Dimensity 8300-Ultra and the Pro variant gets the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor. Both chips should be economical in consumption and ensure longer battery life. With both chips, Xiaomi is betting on a future with AI. The Chinese company is partnering Google Gemini for their AI features. Features such as Circle to Search, AI Eraser and AI Notes are available on both the 14T and 14T Pro.
The 14T and the 14T Pro come in three different colors, Titan Black, Titan Blue and Titan Grey. The 14T Pro can be purchased with storage capacities of 512 GB and 1 TB. The 512 GB will cost $899 and the 1 TB will cost $999. The 14T is available in a 256 GB and a 512 GB variant. These cost 649 euros and 699 euros.
