The iPhone 14 may soon face spirited competition. Tomorrow the presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S23 is scheduled and it is going to make things extremely difficult for Apple, for one very simple reason. And that, in this area, is actually about time.
Don’t get me wrong: the battle between Samsung and Apple’s top devices has been exciting for years. Still, at least for European consumers, the iPhone has a huge advantage over the Galaxy devices. It all has to do with its chip.
Samsung Galaxy S23 goes hard on iPhone 14
While international Android users could enjoy Qualcomms’ Snapdragon chips for years, in Europe we had to make do with the Exynos variants. The latter was produced by Samsung itself. It got the job done, but honesty dictates that it also brought disadvantages.
Funnily enough, it is the Snapdragon chips that managed to get the most out of the Android phones and not the Exynos models. So the fact that the Samsung Galaxy 23 also gives European fans access to its latest model creates enthusiasm.
Although the competition doesn’t stop there. Indeed, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the most recent model, is getting a special upgrade for the Samsung Galaxy S23. The impressive chip is being modified for Samsung’s devices. For Galaxy, Qualcomm calls it.
Even closer
There is much to criticize about the iPhone and how Apple has approached the smartphone the same for years, but there is little we can say about the chip. The American company’s Bionic models work extremely well with the iPhone and have really made the most of its specifications for ages.

The Samsung Galaxy S23, with its modified For Galaxy Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, will no doubt be able to replicate that well. As a user, you’ll see that reflected in performance and battery life.
Of course, this information is not official yet, as Galaxy Unpacked 2023 does not take place until tomorrow night (Dutch time). Nevertheless, reliable source Roland Quandt is already coming up with this information.
The presentation is tomorrow, so the chances of the information being accurate seem to be high. Although you may have to take it with a grain of salt for quite a while yet.
